... ... ...

Copper Bare Bright Scrap, often referred to as "#1 Copper" or "Bright & Shiny Copper," is the highest grade of copper scrap available in the recycling market. It consists of clean, unalloyed, uncoated, and untarnished copper wire or cable, free from any insulation, paint, or other contaminants. Typically, it has a bright, shiny appearance, which distinguishes it from lower-grade copper scraps like #2 Copper or insulated wire.

  • Characteristics:
  • Purity: Must be at least 99.9% pure copper with no alloys or impurities.
  • Appearance: Bright, shiny, and free of oxidation, tarnish, or corrosion.
  • Common Sources: Electrical wiring, bus bars, heavy-gauge copper cables, or tubing, often stripped of insulation.
  • Size: Usually wire or cable with a diameter of 1/16 inch or thicker (16 AWG or larger).
